Launching maddog application from within Mamewah
« on: January 27, 2006, 10:00:04 pm »
Does any one have a mamewah ini file that works to launch maddog mcree? I've tried all kinds of combinations and I can't get this to work. I was able to get it to show up in the list using the INI from the cpviewer website but I can't launch it. I also tried launching notepad just to get something to work but that didn't work either.

Its windows XP pro with mamewah 1.61.

Its the PC version. It comes with a bat file to launch its executable. I think its awefull but I want to get it working because I just got the new act-labs tv-usb light guns Friday. These new act-lab guns are "supposed" to be better than the last ones. The guns are expensive so I want to play more games with them to justify buying them.

I also have maddog 2 and HOTD2 but haven't tried loading those up yet.

just make shortcuts of the exe of the games you want and place them all into one folder so mamewah shows all your pc games in one platform. Then just point the rom path to that folder, and make sure that the emulator title is PC.

Pc Games.ini (mamewah v1.62) ###

emulator_title                            Pc

### List Generation Settings ###
rom_path                                  c:\Where ever you choose
rom_extension                             lnk
dat_file
nms_file
catver_ini_file
list_generation_method                    rom_folder

### Execution Settings ###
pre_emulator_app_commandlines
emulator_commandline                      PC "[rompath]\[name].[romext]"{dosbox}{safelaunch}
post_emulator_app_commandlines
general_app_commandlines

### Artwork Locations ###
artwork_image_paths
movie_preview_path
movie_artwork_no                          1

### Screen-Saver Settings ###
enable_music_in_screensaver               1
select_random_game                        0
saver_type                                slideshow
movie_path
movie_fullscreen                          1
quit_delay                                30
saver_commandline

### Additional Settings ###
music_path
lcd_display_file_path

### Settings used by MAMEWAH ###
current_list                              0

l hope this helps.

Pc Games.ini (mamewah v1.62) ###
I'm using 1.61, I guess I need to step up to 1.62 and give it a try.

Actually no, this feature has been there for a long time.  Only difference to the above is your 'emulator_executable' should be set to 'PC'.
