i got a radeon8500 cant get it to desplay on componet the video is garbled tv is jvc 27530

Make sure you've chosen a TV mode your TV can actually handle.  Hi Def modes (even 480p) will not work on your standard def TV.

Ive tried all the setting on the dongle it still shows messed up and in the control panel it shows up as a VGA monitor

Have you tried using powerstrip to force an interlaced mode that your TV can handle?

Windows by default only outputs progressive scan modes which your TV won't be able to show.  You need to create 15KHz modes for a normal TV.

Read the stickies in this forum.  They explain it all step by step with pictures and all.
