Hi ya!
I have a problem and can't seem to resolve it by myself and was I could find the answer here.  Here goes ...
I have a AMD64x2 3800+ which I love, but now that I have a arcade control and am trying to run mame I have discovered a major problem.  The dual core cpu seems to confuse mame and games are stuttering and choppy.  I can temporary fix this problem by alt-tab and bringing up the task manager and then finding the mame process and setting the chip affinity to one cpu.  Mame then runs fine, but this is a temporary solution and this setting resets when you exit mame, so I have to do this every time I play a mame game.  This makes using frontends useless because why use one if i have to break out the keyboard to alt tab and bring up the task manager with every game I choice to play.
So I was wondering If there is some way to set the chip affinity to one cpu everytime Mame.exe is run.
I've searched the forums and didnt see anyone having similar problem or a solution so hopefully someone will know a answer.
Thanks in a advance for any and all help.
Alex

are you sure it's the dual processors confusing it?

It might just be the fact that you are running ath64 chips....

Try an optimized build from here:

Just tried, its the same as normal mame, choppy and stuttering.  Can fix it by same method of setting chip affinity in task manager then it runs great.
All help welcomed,
Thanks
