Gamelauncher fast scroll oddity.
« on: January 23, 2006, 10:04:56 pm »
I know Gamelauncher is a bit of a dinosaur and not too many people use it around here but I thought I'd give it a try in case anyone had some quick insight.

Gamelauncher works terrific for me and my lil PII 400. The one thing that's odd though is that when fast scrolling kicks in, the list no longer "scrolls". You hear the scrolling sound speed up and it IS scrolling but the screen is frozen at where the fast scroll started. When you let go of the joystick the screen refreshes to where you have scrolled to.

Basically you have to guess how long to hold the fast scroll. It's a bit annoying but I haven't been able to resolve it. A friend is running Gamelauncher on a PII 350 and doesn't have this problem. I've tried every combination of different Gamelauncher setting and video preferences to resolve it, with no luck. I'm thinking it might be the crappy onboard video but I'm hoping that someone will know some magic Gamelauncher configuration to help me out. *crosses fingers* I have room for another videocard but I don't have one and no cash to buy one so right now I'm at the mercy of this computer. Anyone know a trick to get this one moving?

I was thinking of seeing if my computer had enough juice to drive some of the other frontends such as MameWah but Gamelauncher is working so good for me right now except for this one issue. I'd like to see if I can resolve this.
If you build a frankenpanel, chances are I don't care for you as a person.
