In an effort to speed up MAME (old computer) in my cab I have downgraded to version 55b. This version works lightning fast and plays all the games I want to play. Unfortunately I may have downgraded too far...
Issue #1: Mamewah would not generate a list of games.
Temp solution: In Mamewahs mame.ini I switched "list_generation_method" from "rom_folder_vs_listxml" to "rom_folder". This gives me a game list but by rom name as apposed to game title.
Questions: Is there a way to generate an xml gamelist for this version? Is there a better way? I seem to remember something about using a .dat file.
Issue #2: This is a cocktail machine and I need the games to run both vertical and horizontal. I have used "-autorol" in MAMEs MAME.ini to do this in later versions automatically. Trying this in 55b gives me an error.
Questions:Am I correct in assuming that "-autorol" will not work with this version of MAME? Is there a workaround? If not what version was this introduced?
Issue/ Question #3: Is there a way to autostretch all games to 640x480 resolution? Some games are using less than the full screen.
Disclamer: I am not lazy. I have done much research to get things working this far and will continue to search forums, FAQs, archives to find these answers, but if anyone can save me hours of searching/reading on any of these questions I would appreciate it.
