My Mame Cabinet *pics*

Well, I have posted pictures here when I tried to sell it. But I decided to keep it. Its just too much fun to sell!

I got a cabinet free from work, its an old Street Fighter II CE cabinet. It had a busted monitor in it. I picked up a Wells Gardner U3000 monitor for cheap. Brand new! It helps working in a place that has a small arcade in it. You make friends with the repair guy.

Specs:

Mamewah front end with...
mame *too many roms*
Zsnes *around 900 roms*
Project64 *130 roms*
JPac
happs 8way joysticks
6buttons per player and 1p/2p start buttons
2 Insert Coin buttons, for 1player and 2player

27'' Wells Gardner U3000 Monitor
Pentium 4  2.6gig
Intel D865GLC Motherboard
512 PC3200 Cosair Ram
Maxtor 10gig HD 7200rpm *system*
Maxtor 80gig HD 7200rpm *media*
Geforce2 MX AGP
Generic PC speakers and subwoofer

Small video of it in Action 6mb -
It is sooo hard to try and play and film... Shows all emulators and jukebox.

Old picture, I have since then taken out coindoor. Putting in a solid piece of wood.

Insert coin buttons, picked up at radioshack. I can't find my 1" drillbit to cut holes for the escape button and power button.

Mounted PC speakers. I have desoldered the pot on the volume control knob, soldered in some wires, and extended the volume control to the control panel. Very handy! Especially for the Jukebox.

Its messy, Going to wait till I can afford to build a b-e-a-utilful control panel before I bother messing with it again, it works, why fix it. Also JPAC there...

Without the help of this forum, there is noway I would of been able to get it done. Thanks for everything! Next project after I make this one all pretty, is a cocktail table, or bartop touchscreen jukebox!

Can I ask what is probably a n00b question?

As you scrolled through the list of games, I could see MameWah doing something like "intro" movies about each game. Is that what MamaWah does or do you have something else going on there?

Ya Mamewah does that on its own, just gotta set it up to play intro movies. There is also a torrent floating around with hundreds of intro movies for mame games. Its over a gig if I remember right.

Nice cab and that video is a really nice touch!  I might have to go with MameWah for my front end now - I really like the intro movies.  I have Gamelauncher right now and while it does the job, it's kind of plain...

How does Project64 work?  Do the games play faithfully without the analog stick from the N64?  Is it as good as the NES and SNES emulators which play most everything perfectly?  After seeing your demo I'm thinking of throwing it in my cab too...  Thanks!

Ya it works great for the N64 games. Except the lack of button control. But the only games I play routinely are WaveRace and Mario Kart. 1080 snowboarding is fun too, but can't do many tricks due to the lack of C buttons. I am trying to find schematics to build an Adaptoid or similiar to put actual N64 controls into the cabinet. And you need a pretty decent system to play a lot of the n64 games, its a very demanding emulator.

What is the inside width of the cabinet? I have a dynamo cut corner very similar to that.  Also, why did you decide to take out the coin-door?

Your cabinet looks almost identical to mine, control panel shape and everything. There was some water damage on the coin door piece of wood, and I just replaced it, didn't feel like putting the coin door back. Plus this way I get to use 2 extra buttons on my jpac instead of insert coins. For project64 you must use a wrapper. I will post a link to it, as well as my ini when I get off of work tonight.
