Heh Heh, very perceptive Drew. You're right, it is an exercise bike I got from Freecycle that I have not used yet and yes, the wife does use it to hang and dry clothes, and Yes, the wife constantly reminds me of this... :)

not made in Mexico.

no its not asebmled there, but the parts are sure manufactured there.
you need a premie for true good ol American 3 beer for lunch workmanship.
still your 100 times better off buying a new Fender off the shelf than a new Gibson. Their quality control has gone into the crapper.
Enjoying the fruits of technological obsolescence one game at a time...

Congratulations papa!! I'm a strat man myself, but you just got to love the made in the USA.  tone goodness.  Really nothing beats a strat through a good tube amp for pure blues heaven.  My holy grail guitar is a pre-CBS 65 strat.  Though I'd really take anything from 61-65.

Enjoy your new baby.  Just don't let the wife/girlfriend get jealous. You'll still know who's number one even if you can't say it out loud.

 ;D

Thanks guys! The next Telecaster level up was double what I paid for this one, and this one was double than the cheaper Mexican knock off. I have an old 1970 Gibson Artist, and really wanted a telecaster for a while now.

My next purchase will be a Strat, but I'll have to let Mrs. Jabba take a bit of a breather now, as well as the old bank account...

Hey Jabba, I know these really cool little strat knock-offs that cost practically nothing and after a bit of setting up, they sound pretty darn nice.

www.rondomusic.net

They are called the SX strats, I have one that I use as my beater guitar and they could make a nice temporary strat to satisfy your lust for fine guitars. They're 100 bucks.
I had to beat them to death with their own shoes...

It's not a girl. The thing has a fine, long strap.
Now in a tasty new flavour.
