Carpeting a Sub Box

Okay, this is a question for all you car audio gurus out there. I want to apply some carpet to my sub box that I built, but I'm not exactly sure how to go about it.

Should I wrap the top, front, back, and bottom with a single piece of carpet and then cut the two sides and apply them? Is there a way to do it with one big continuous piece? I want to make it look as decent as possible. Also, I'm using a piece of remnant carpet from my house, is it work getting car audio carpet? Is regular carpet harder to cut?

Use car carpet, you can find it at your local car mega-store.  Its thinner and easier to work with.

When I did car stereo installs in a previous life...

Wrap the ends first.  Use 3M Super 77 glue to glue the flat part of the box, then fold the sides over just like wrapping a christmas present.  Cut the corners at a 45 degree angle across the intersection of the two sides.  Fold down and glue.

Wrap the outside of the box, using the spray glue, being careful to blend the nap at the edges with the nap on the sides.  Do it right, and you'll never notice the joint.

A few stragetically placed staples can make life easier, also.  Just make sure you cover the staples with the final wrap.

A clean, stiff, brush can be used to join the naps where seams are visible.

or if you still are confused and battling to do it, go into any car audio shop and get carpet kit for speakerbox it comes with plans and diagram on how to use it, like Ed_McCarron said it is much easier to play about with and use...

Yeah, for 10 bucks more the oriental massage parlors in philly will add the washy washy...  But they rarely use a brush.
