Oklahoma Wild Fires vs. Stingray
« on: January 03, 2006, 10:17:58 am »
For some odd reason evertime I hear the mention of those Oklihoma wild fires  in the news I picture Stingray with his new hat on, fighting the fire away from his house using his trebuchet and water ballons.........

He lives too far away from anywhere that should be burned down.  The fire would have to commute in by him.

Oklihoma can't be as big as they show it on the map... I thought there was only a dozen houses in that state....

That's why Stingray's net connection is so slow... packets are sent from router to router by trebuchet.

Smoke was so thick day before yesterday that you could only see a few yards. Seems like the whole state was on fire. Our worthless governor finally issued a burn ban. Way to slam that barn door after the horses are already gone.

The problem isn't the fire, it's Oklahoman society.  The fire has been made to feel excluded and repressed for too long.  The fire has been made to feel disenfranchised.  If Oklahoman society would simply open its arms to the fire, to give the fire a chance, the fire would feel better.

It is not the fire's fault.  Those trees and bushes were asking for it, all dry and twiggy.

Hey, wait. Oklahoma was on CNN and it wasn't because we pay our teachers less than every other state in the US. This must be a good thing. I for one welcome our new firey overlords.

Yes, let's save thousands of unlabeled, expired cans of liquid and then hand them out at a later date.

Actually I didn't mean to quote you at all. Or maybe I did, but then changed my mind. In any case, two facts remain. The fires are Bush's fault, and that asian chick on battlestar galactica is hot.

The cans are UNLABELED.

How are they going to know two years from now what is in the cans?

Yes, then later on assume liability that they relabeled cans.

It all sounds simple, but in reality, when everyone is constantly looking for a reason to point fingers, this was the only thing that could have been done with it.

Sure, if they want to hire someone to open a million 12 ounce cans.

EDIT:  okay, I just almost wet myself with this mental image:

Handing Stingray 150,000 cans marked BEER in black marker... and having him open them one by one, tasting each one, and going "damn that's water too" before throwing it into the fire...

...then at the end someone coming up and saying "where's all my Budweiser?"
