For clarification: PSXchange2 does not use a spin-up trick exactly as soapboy describes. The lid remains open using the spring or tab supplied, you insert the PSX 2 disk, turn PS1 on, wait, then the drive stops and the screen tells you to switch disks. No grabbing spinning disks. Then you can close or leave the lid open as you wish. Simple, no-soldering or opening you PS1. Out of hundreds of games that I have only 2 or 3 would not work with PSX2 disk. Plus you can use Game Shark/Action Replay codes if desired. This was an easier option for me since I can't solder for crap and didn't want to ruin my PS1 and at the time it was cheaper than having someone else modchip it for me.
