ebay had a 10 cent listing day yesterday.
A lot of sellers will do this and make a 1 or 3 day auction and then "relist the item" with the actual information.
Its just a way to save the ebay listing fees, and it happens all the time.
but thier not 10c listings. theyre 'buy now' for $1900 type listings. my own guess is its to attract attention. lots of people will say to their friends "hey, look at this f***witted twits auction" then loads of people do, and then they look at the other things he has for auction...
could be.. but not likely. I'm not saying its a 10c listing for his auction. What I am saying is there are days when ebay only charges a 10cent listing fee for sellers, which can save you a good amount of money if you do a lot of selling.
The thing is.. when ebay has a 10 cent listing day, a lot of people do what this guy did as a placeholder. No one is going to buy a golf ball for a million dollars, so when it doesn't sell in 3 days or 7 days or whatever he set it to, he can relist it for free... and change the title and description.
So what you do is make a lot of fake auctions on the 10 cent day and just slowly add in the real information as those auctions end. I really, really doubt this is just for attention as it happens all the time. There are some sellers i've seen that will have 50 or 100 auctions up that are either titled "test auction" or selling things like a piece of paper for $8000. It's really not uncommon at all. This only caught the attention of BYOAC since its arcade related.
