your advice on monitors please...
« on: December 27, 2005, 05:24:55 am »
ello guys,

I need your advice. I have a basic setup for my mame cabinet. I am still looking for a good 19" monitor. I am looking for a monitor with the least amount of fiddling. I just want to have one that plugs in and plays. Which would you recommend?

second request; If I have an external hard drive, would this affect the speed of the emulator (since it accesses an "external drive")?

Thanks for your advice!
Much appreciated.

I have narrowed the choices. I want either the WGU9200 27" universal or the BEtson 27" Multisync. I have read that there have been some issues with the WG in the past. Have these issues been solved with the later production runs?? Which is the most reliable one of the two?

Thanks again!

try and avoid using the external drive (assuming usb drive here)

you will find that it will make your system slow to start and load games, fit a standard hard drive in your system.

If you have to external, go firewire. You get no lag with data transfer.
Now in a tasty new flavour.
