Dux 2 chip will not boot with eject button
« on: December 21, 2005, 09:11:17 am »
I have this Dux 2 chip http://www.duomodchip.com/english/install/duox2_white/duox2_white_v1.0.jpg

It will boot to Mod chip but when I use eject button it goes red and the screen
said "Your Xbox needs service" What could this be? I have M8_16.bin bios.
I did chose a option and one time to unlock hard drive.Could that do it?

Thanks

Isn't this fun

what error code are you getting?  When it says "your xbox needs service" thee will be a number in the corner.  See what it is and look up the code.

If you're trying to boot with the modchip off and you unlocked your hard drive, you're probably getting an error 5.. and yes, that's because you unlocked your hard drive.

That's known as a FRAG... Flashing Red And Green.  Don't go crazy.

Will your Xbox boot up with the chip?  Do you get an error message still?  If you do, there WILL be a number in the corner of the screen.  If not, something is really screwy.

I assume you mean you want the original microsoft dash to run.  To do that you need to lock that hard drive again and change your file structure in your hard drive so tha tthe original MS dash files are still there.

I don't have the exact work through for it since I don't bother running the MS dash on my modded xbox, but go to xbox-scene.com and look at the tutorials.  It's in there.

ok you don't seem very farmiliar with this, and you also don't seem like you want to read anything on xbox-scene, so just go find yourself an iso of Slayer's EvoX installer v2.6

Burn that.
Put in Xbox.
Turn Xbox on.
Press buttona few times, and all the goodies you need will be put on your hard drive.
Enjoy your xbox.

You can find the iso in the "regular places" online, or on the xbins IRC chat/FTP site.

what media are you using, and what dvd drive is in your xbox?

In general, you'll have the most luck using DVD-R discs (at least in my experience).  Also, depending on what drive you have (Thompson, Samsung, or Philips) you may not be able to read certain types of media at all.

Do I have to make the ISO file from the EvoX2.6 a image file before burning?

Thompsons don't like CDRW's in my experience.  I know there are some people that say their tommys can read everything... but I haven't seen it.  Stick with DVD-Rs from now on and you should be ok.

Is the eject button trying to boot to the stock dashboard?  If so... is your hard drive unlocked.... again  :P  Unless you locked it with the Slayer's disc or similar, you won't boot to the stock dash.
