Sonic II?
« on: December 20, 2005, 10:08:09 am »
Is there a Sonic 2 game out there? I went through the first one soo fast-  it surprised me how short it was. Now, I want more!  Do you guys know if they made a Sonic 2?

Yeah, but since they were ports, they aren't done right. Sonic 2 on Mame isn't as bad as Sonic 1. Neither is half as good as they are on the Genesis though.

I never owned a Genesis or MegaDrive over here but I didn't realise the arcade port differed from the Genesis version! After I found Sonic was supported by MAME I didn't bother to install Gens! Might have to install it now!

There's a Sega Master system version of Sonic.

Then there's Sonic 1,2,3, Sonic and Knuckles on Genesis.  There was also a Sonic 3d on either Sega CD or 32x... maybe both.

Then dreamcast had Sonic Adventure 1 and 2.

I'm almost sure I'm missing some games... this is just off the top of my head.  Oh, and there were also at least 2 Game Gear Sonic games
first off your and idiot

Man I love the internet, haha.

You'll want the genesis version. For whatever reason, Sonic 1 has this ridiculous timer on the arcade version. Neither game rewards you extra men, and the levels are a bit different.

Sonic 2 isn't too bad, even though it pales in comparison to the Genesis version. Sonic 1 is annoying to the point of being unplayable.

agreed, you'll want the true console versions of any Sonic game.  Just as some arcade games just aren't the same when ported to consoles.... you lose a bit when Sonic is dropped into an arcade machine.

Stick with the console games.
