Older EasyMAMECab versions?

I installed the latest EasyMAMECab and got it working.  But some games run slow on my slow machine, and someone recommended trying MAME version 0.71b.  I managed to burn a new EasyMAMECab install disc, replacing the AdvanceMAME with version 0.71b.  However, whatever options the latest EasyMAMECab tries to put into advmame.rc, some are not recognized by the older 0.71b version of AdvMAME.  Does anyone have the older EasyMAMECab that was designed around 0.71b?  That would certainly make things easier.  Otherwise I will probably just use the newer one, and forego the better games until I can upgrade my hardware.
