Betson image distortion... Can it be fixed?
« on: December 16, 2005, 08:50:25 am »
Ok... I've had my Betson (Kortek) monitor since summer... I am generally happy but I have something that I just can't seem to correct...

The screen basically looks compressed on the right side... I've tried all of the on screen controls and can't seem to correct it using them.

I've attached a picture of what I am experiencing... Is this anomaly something I have to live with or is it correctable ?

I general, Width, Horiz size, horiz linearity all are adjustments to try. Some may be on the circuit board itself.

You didn't mention the size and model number of the monitor.

Do a search on betson geometry, this is a widespread problem it seems with no real solution.  I wish I had read more before buying this piece of junk.  (Yes I have the same problem and it drives me nuts).  It is a kortek/betson quality issue.

I'm sorry Ken, it's a Betson Imperial 27" 44-4070-RT (Kortek #KT-2914)

Somebody also told me its a "linearity" problem...

In searching I've found folks that have had similar problems w/Betson monitor...

I tried adjusting linearity, using the "service mode" OSD... no luck... it only seems to make a difference in 640x480 mode not in the lower resolutions where it is most apparent.

Looks like I'm stuck with it... that's too bad...
