You need to do a lot of searching. You don't know what Mamewah even is yet.  :police:

Have you read the readme.txt and ini.txt files yet? I was reading those off the Mamewah's help page:

http://mamewah.mameworld.net/help.htm

Really useful information there.

How much have you actually used emulators / front ends?  From this comment it sounds like you have limited experience.  I think that's why brophog responded the way he did.

There are at least 3 pieces to the equation
1. An emulator
2. ROM(s)
3. Front End

There are several emulators out there MAME being the most well known and capable.

ROMS are a touchy subject... which should be avoided in this forum... you will have to read and understand the legalities of using them for yourself.

Front Ends... Mamewah is an EXCELLENT front end but does require some research and patience... many of the same Mamewah questions get asked over and over again... "how do I generate lists..." "how come I cant see my roms...." "how do I do custom layouts..." yada yada yada...  Mamewah is my favorite front end... but there are several others out there you may want to try first if you don't feel up to the research...

Please forgive me if I sound condescending... that is not my intent... I just want to figure out where you are technically...

Have Fun
Happy Gaming!

1. RetroACTIVE - you are only 30 minutes from me :). nice to meet a local

2. Spuddybuddy - Retroactive has a point. If you could list your experience with the various software you have been using or want to use we could be able to direct you in the proper place first.

Well I know how to use emulators, I have one for SNES, NES, and Genesis. But does MAME have its own ROMS or does MAME run these other emulators.

And I was meesing around with the ini file in MAMEWAH and got a 2 games to show up, but they dont work :( And I dont know why only 2 showed up when I have like 50.

Well first thing first. You know what an emulator is in general. Well that's MAME. MAME is the emulator. Mamewah is a front end. It takes an emulator and shows it to the user without any hint of windows. That is it's purpose. Mamewah does not run ROMs only emulators (correct me if I'm wrong).

Analogy:

DOS     :     Windows (Older versions)
Mame  :      Mamewah

Mame is an arcade system emulator and uses arcade rom firmware.

Mamewah will generate games list if you have the appropriate options settings... Check this forum... there are several threads dealing with how to get mamewah to generate/detect your games...
Happy Gaming!

Well I got some games to show up in MAMAEWAH but obviously if they are from another emulator and now MAME they arent going to work. Ok well that clears up a little bit but I know im gonna still have tons of questions, Thanks.

Ok now that I have a MAME ROM why are there like 20 files in the zip??? Do I place all of these files in the mame\rom folder, or is ther some other way to do this.

Never unzip a ROM. Mame (and 99% of all emulators) read ROMs in ZIP format.
