USB PC game Pad Hack

I tried to Hack a USB game pad to use under Arcade controllers (joystick panal).It was a 6 button and 2 axis simple game pad.
I just hold two seperate "grounds" wire ,each one going towards AXIS and BUTTONS respectively.
I arrange them all and assembled in my controller box.

Now I have a problem when playing Fighting games like KOF98.
When i quickly move the joystick Right Right,fwd fwd or reverse the character playing in the game is not running every time.There must be a delay sometimes which always irritate me.

can you help me...

I've never come across a simple digital USB pad with a delay, and all the ones I've hacked have worked just fine.  Even the cheap $10 discount-bin pads.

Check all your wiring and solder points for loose contacts (use a multi-meter, not just your eyes).  99.99% of the time it's a bad soldering job that causes issues.  Failing that, check all of your microswitches on your sticks (again, with a multi-meter).

just tell me how many ground do you use ?
I did with 2 ground [1 for x-y AXIS and 1 for Buttons] from thier nearest Point going towards them.

I'd imagine the d-pad and the buttons shared a ground. But it doesnt really matter if they have "seperate" grounds since it's all coming from the same source.

Yeah that was also my thought.

But with gamepad hack we use wires (6 to 10 inces) long.Is
that make a differnce to increase impedence.

I use "Quantum Fighter Pro" gamepads for hacking, because they're cheap and readily available.  These have a common ground for all components, so I have 1 ground wire.

Grab a multimeter and test your gamepad to see if it shares ground wires for different parts.  If it's a common ground, then no problems.  If there are different grounds, it could be there for a reason.  I'd go with whatever the pad manufacturer used.  No point risking your Dreamcast for a tiny piece of wire!
