Double problem in Mamewah and Daphne.. Please help

  Hello everybody! nice to meet you.. it's a few I read the forum. The best.
I'm Fabri from north italy, 30 yrs male. I've just finished my mamecab in a sinistar cab (found in a dump empty).
It runs with mame 32 0.61 complete, with pinball and daphne. Riva tnt2 sending signal to a tv thru scart pins. Two joystick controllers in usb.
Now, I had finished my layout on mamewah 1.61 and mame runs perfectly. Pinball too... but I would like to solve two problems that I don't know how to do.
1st - mamewah screensaver doesn't work! I dont know why.. I need the run_random_game type but never happens! everything seems to be setted ok.

2nd I did my daphne.bat but. In the mamewah list I have different laser games but it launches always the first of my daphne.bat. Please let me know the command to insert in order to let me choose wich game to play.

And for last... just a curiosity.. it's possible in mamewah 1.61 have 3 different type of layout switching between the emulator lists. One for mame, one for pinball and the other for daphne?

I may be wrong here but you appear to have a delay of 60 MINUTES before the screensaver kicks in. And then each slide would stay on for 60 minutes.

**** EDIT - nope, I'm wrong. It is indeed 60 seconds.

I can't double check this as I'm at work and don't have mamewah installed (shame !)

As far as your daphne problems go - I'm pretty sure thats not how to do it (pause while buks searches the internet .....)

Right, I followed these instructions (it took me ages to get it to work but it did work in the end !)

One thing worth checking first though - make sure you can run all your daphne games through daphne loader FIRST before trying via mamewah.

3 layouts is fine. Just name the -main portion of your layout the same as you did for the corresponding ini file.

If your daphne emulator has daphne.ini then the layout main file would be daphne-main.jpg

Bucks! thanks you very much. The link you post is the same I followed to create my .bat. The games load perfectly from daphneloader and in mamewah the same but only one game, the one at the top of my .bat, the others no.. if I choose to launch another game from the mamewah list, it launches always the same even if I start another name. I think the .bat is wrong.

Your bat file should look EXACTLY like this :

start/wait D:\daphne\Daphne.exe %1 vldp -framefile D:\daphne\framefiles\%1.txt -fullscreen
Exit

You don't need to specify every daphne game !

The "%1" bits in the batch file are translated to the actual Daphne names when they are passed from mamewah.

So if you had cliffhanger, you need to have a framefile called cliff.txt. Mamewah uses the daphne.nms file to work out what the "%1" value will be (in this example - cliff).

It took me a while to work this out at the time !

... for the mamewah screensaver.. Do you know if I need something else? for example, mamewah screensaver works with windows screensaver settings? or is standalone?

totally standalone but turn off your windows screensaver just in case.

Your ini looks okay, do you see the snapshots of weach game in your mamewah skin ?

Yeah. sure. I see all the snaps, cabinets and flyer in my mamewah lyaout.. Neither of all mamewah screensavers type works.. I don't know why..

I also tried to use emusaver and other mamescreensaver that launches random games.. but no ones works..
do you think that happens 'cause I've mame32 and not the commadline version? does anybody that use mame32 have encountered this problem?

Hey Bucks! great! thanks! with your .bat daphne is good and every game is launchable.. only one problem... astron belt give me a bad command error.. in daphneloader is perfect..

for the screensaver.. nothing to do.. I can't make work it

It's certainly worth a try to use Mame commandline.
