I remember once when I was a kid my uncle told us to see if noodles are properly cooked you have to fling them on the ceiling and see if they stick...

next time we had spaghetti we tried out his theory. my mom was pissed.

I guess it's different when they're yours.  I had a similar sentiment when I didn't have any.  This was just hysterical to watch.  She'd pick up a strand in each hand and just start flailing them around like mad, screaming for joy all the while.

The idea is to pick less messy foods for the kids.

IE, the wife and I eat spaghetti with meat sauce.

Kid gets plain spaghetti, with perhaps a splash of olive oil for flavor.  No messy red stains.

Oh, and for maximum effect, lose the noodle lashing and go for a leather strap soaked in pickle juice.

I almost said leather thong, but I could see that derailing -way- too fast  for my taste.

Make sure to not give toddlers wine in long stemmed glasses - they will just break them once they start getting a buzz on -- just put it in a sippycup.  Also if the box of wine is low in the fridge, they can more quickly learn how to help themselves.
