CHD Games worth trying?
« on: December 06, 2005, 03:13:42 pm »
Up to this point I've stayed away from the CHD games as I've read that they typically require a lot of PC power.  I'm curious if any of them are more friendly than others?

I was thinking that maybe something like Gauntlet Legends would require a lot less than something like Mortal Kombat.  Suggestions?

My PC is an AMD 1.2 Ghz.

Only one I know of that is somewhat resource friendly is Killer Instinct.  But I ran that on a Sempron 2400+.

Most of the beatmania games play full speed on a PIV 2.0 Ghz
Not sure of AMD.

Not sure of the status of KI on newer MAME builds... Seem to remember reading that it slowed down considerably in one of the recent u builds. (don't recall the details).

Why would you think that a game that uses a 200 Mhz RISC CPU and is 7 years newer  would require less power than something that uses a 6.2 Mhz cpu and a 2 Mhz CPU?

Try  Area 51/Maximum Force Duo, Crusin' USA&World, and Off Road Challenge
WTB: The Grid by Midway (2001), looking for 2 or more complete games, and large marquee
