Arcadeus Artwork
« on: January 07, 2006, 12:56:50 am »
The latest project I've been working on. This one is for Jontox. All the way over in Belgium. He's got a project announcement thread as well, but I thought this belonged here for those who don't frequent that area. As always, click the link below the image to see at larger size.

And here's the button detail.

More to come as the marquee and sideart come together.

You did a marvelous job.  The blue and red grinds start out strong in the middle and fade out as you go to the ends of the control panel.  I think that's a neat effect.
More to come as the marquee and sideart come together.
Can't wait.

Thanks All for these nice comments.

Hey Felsir, we never know but Pixelhugger could need some help for the side arts of the cabinet :).
Some Vectorized Graphic could do the trick for that huge surface to cover  ;)

Some cab pictures will be posted on the main Project thread as soon as possible. (Showing painted cabinet)
Main project Thread *** Project Arcadeus ***.

For now here is what I promised.

We first strarted (me and Pixelhugger) to gather a few ideas to start the CP art.
I told him that I liked very much Killer Instinct and Mortal Kombat 2 atmosphere coming from the game design.

The metal look of Killer Instinct logo was great and as the CP would have Silver Joys and silver color border, I decided to go with silver elements on the CP art.
Please note that the CP components will be assembled by Knievel himself. I do really appreciate his work.
and I'm looking forwards to see a few pictures on the assembling work.
I'm very pleased he accepted to help me out.
---

Let's turn back to our main subject: CP art.
So the first achievement was as followed:

The work was already great and after a few more ideas gathering I proposed Pixelhugger to create a conflict (separation) between P1 and P2.
I was already planning to get on the CP backlit blue and red buttons for players so...
I just extrapolated and ask him to get player one in blue and player two in red.
The second achievement was as followed:

Pixelhugger surprised me in a good sense with that great background grid and that nice delimitation for 4-ways upper-central Joystick.

Then he added borders for Pause and Start Buttons ...:

Afterwards, I felt that the CP button was quite empty and proposed him to paste on it the Cabinet name and get it fused with the bottom silver border and what's strange... is that Pixelhugger got the same idea  :D
and we finaly got the final version you All know:

Great job and like Pixelhugger said more to come...
