Paper Preference

I have access to a HP 450C (36") and I'm looking to purchase paper for it.  Is the general consensus for paper to use a gloss paper or a matte paper for printing out artwork?  I know this is not a high end printer, but for my own use, I think it will work fine with the right paper combination.
