Also any idea if the image cming on the monitor will be the HI RES DC image that i would get if i used the DC vga adapter.... or will it simply just be S-video quality on a monitor. Thanks again

You want to connect two CGA/(VGA) RGB output capable game consoles to a D9200, a RGB monitor capable of CGA/EGA/VGA/(SVGA) frecuencies... (your question has just been answered)

Just get RGB cables for your devices,

I have to agree... using a VGA box to upscan and then plug into a arcade monitor is a waste.  You'll get much nicer image quality going direct from an RGB-out cable into your monitor.

http://www.mameworld.net/pc2jamma/

That site has some nice examples on how to hack RGB (ie: SCART) cables from consoles so that you can output to low-res RGB monitors.  Follow the guide for the saturn (as it's identical to PSX and PS2).  Get yourself a $10 PS2 RGB cable off ebay, and hack it up as per the guide, outputting to a DSUB15 connector.  Plug that straight into your D9200, and the image quality will be superb.  And you will have saved quite a bit of money in the process.

Let me get this straight RGB > Componenet? i have a db9200 monitor in my cabinet so i just want to addthe ps2 and dc to my cabinet and get the best image quality possible on that monitor. So what your saying is get two scart cables for my systems, then hack them to a vga db15 connection and plug that straight into the monitor. That will give me the best pic? If i don't want to hack myself would a scart to vga adapter like this

http://www.gefen.com/kvm/product.jsp?prod_id=3257

work without any image loss..... thanks for all your replys

RGB (in any of it's sync carrying variants, RsGB, RGBs or RGBHV) is the most raw & highest quality signal you can feed an analog CRT with, because it's the signal the video amplifiers and deflection units take directly.

If you're referring to RGB SCART cables, yes hacking them to Sub D-15 will do. If you are willing to keep the RGB cables intact (for SCART TV connectivity) the adaptor will also work, as long as it's just a pinout adaptor. But c'mon, $50! If you know how to solder, you can do better for much less: with an enclosed SCART female socket and a Sub D-15 male at radio shack, and a piece of shielded (very important) cat 5e network cable, you can build a superb quality adaptor cable super cheap. :police:
Or just buy a SCART extension cable, cut it to the desired length, and wire a Sub D-15 male to it.

Cheers

would this be a good pinout diagram to use for my needs?

http://ryoandr.free.fr/english.html

i noticed some other schematics have a pin soldered to the ground metal on the scart connector , this one i listed doesn't have that will it still be ok?

Sorry for sounding like a stubborn headcase but i keep reading online some people say component is better than SCART (rgb) others say RGB(scart) is uk's better version of component. Who is right is the difference that noticeable.... Can someone give me the order of connection quality in order.

Go tell those dumb chatterboxes to hide their ass inside a hole until they have a f@#$%ing clue about what they're talking about.
The problem with most people nowadays is their attitude: they ask first, it's much easier than opening a good book/reading articles/studying in general. And when you tell them how stuff works some even dare to question/contradict you, swimming in their pool of deep ignorance & biased bull$hit. Sigh. :o

RGB IS THE MOST PURE FORM OF ANALOG VIDEO SIGNALING. PERIOD. I'm not going to repeat this again here.

And let's speak with quality & correctness:
  • Component is no better than SCART, and vice versa. Component is a video signaling format, SCART is a connection standard. Can you compare fat vs speed?
  • RGB isn't UK's better version of component. Who's the genius who has come up with such a sentence? He/she deserves the Dumbass Nobel Prize. RGB isn't a "version" of anything, much less a "UK" version. What a load of gibberish.

Sorry if I sound harsh, sometimes I need to free some steam.

The diagram is fine and complete.
Solder ALL the grounds together; solder ground to the SCART metal shell also. Very important.

Cheers

Hey...Barkuti:  What's the most pure form of analog signal again?---oh, sorry.  ;)
