CPS1 cfg
« on: November 30, 2005, 03:43:34 pm »
I am finally getting around to setting up the ctrlr/cfg stuff so that the SF games play correctly (dont require me to remap buttons).

I am using Mame v101.

After reading a bunch of threads and reading the info on EasyEmu - I tried to make a CTRLR file that would default to the NeoGeo layout and a "cps1" section for the SF games.

No matter what I do, it does not read the "cps1" section.  I tried another section as a test - this one was "neogeo" specific - neogeo games read the correct buttons!  I also tried an "sf2" section (renaming the "cps1) and the StreetFighter game worked correctly!

So what am I doing wrong that does not register cps1 or cps2 as the system types?  I really would like to specify the controls this way - to cover all the SF games with one config!

Thanks

it's real simple... capcom fighters made before ssf2t are cps1.... the rest are cps2.... so you need both a cps1 and cps2 entry.... but actually this solves nothing as the non-fighters on these systems will be re-mapped as well
