According to the Wells-Gardner site, California Speed was originally shipped from the factory with Wells-Gardner model WGM2575-U4GS27J (25", k7500, medium res).
So look for a "Universal" mounting frame, 25" medium res (25khz) monitor for it.

Well you may have damaged the monitor, the gameboard and the power supply all at once in a fraction of a second. You plugged in a monitor that
MUST HAVE AN ISOLATION TRANSFORMER
into a game that uses a monitor without an isolation transformer.
The monitor I mentioned that was shipped with the game is a k7500 medium res with a built-in switching power supply so
an isolation transformer is not required with that model
. There is no isolation transformer in the game cabinet.

Yes, a U-5000 will work. It is the trouble-prone predessesor to the k7500 and is medium res (does not need an isolation transformer).

That "kit" was issued for one specific purpose: to convert the U-5000 into a K7500.

I was using

but it is not working.
Will the neotec monitor work?(
http://www.happcontrols.com/monitors/49054600.htm
)
I can get them for 400.00 new.Or would you get the WGD9200?
Thanks for all your help
again
Pete

Randy Fromm's site (the URL you posted) has a bad server. It has been down for awhile and I don't think he'll have it back operational until January sometime.
According to the information I posted earlier from Wells-Gardner's site, your game was designed for a 25" monitor. I don't know if a 27" will fit your cabinet.
BTW, the Wells 9200 series has problems (besides being way overpriced).
