S-vid and VPin?
« on: January 27, 2003, 05:23:05 pm »
Going with a TV for cost reasons at this point, and have a ATI 7000 AGP w/ s-vid card, but I really want to do the flipper button on the side thing and run Visual Pinball on my cab as well...anyone tried it?  How ugly is it? Screens appreciated!

(Actually, any new s-vid pics would be great...I think I can tolerate TV, but I'm always looking for something to convice me to spend more $...if golden agers, vectors, and possibly mk look decent enough, I'll be sleeping better!  If not, obviously the pinball's out the window too...)

As long as the picture wouldn't freak out the casual user/mamer enough to say "OW, my head!" or "Um, something's wrong with your display..."  that'd probably be good enough for me...

I have used an s-vid tv.  Vpin looks ok, the clarity is not as good.  Tables with fine-complex graphics blur a bit.  It is still very playable...just not as much of a treat for the eyes.
Oh, the memories of living on pizza subs and Dr Pepper...

so you wouldn't classify it as looking "bad" , just not as sharp?
