The basic idea of colored bubbles alone is pretty cool, but as the article states... There is a lot of cool stuff that could be done with a dye like that.

So it doesn't cure cancer... Neither did cars, but they certainly changed the world.

Ok, sure. Colored bubbles may or may not cure cancer...the jury is still out on that. However, if I had cancer and someone was trying to cheer me up...I'd rather they use colored bubbles rather than those plain old clear ones. So....

I thought you said you read the article.

More important than the bubbles is the dye.

Is it going to be as significant as a car? Probably not.
Is it going to cure cancer? Probably not.

Is it really cool? Yep.
Are there a lot of cool things that could be done with such a thing? Yep.

Yeah... With that car comparison, I meant that colored bubbles were going to change the world JUST like cars did. Yep... That is what I meant.

Just the very fact that the colored bubbles were invented has now changed the world. 12 years ago we had NO colored bubbles. Now we will not only have them, but they will even be non-staining. That is certainly a change.

Since when did the definition of change mean that it had to be about curing cancer (though fun is certainly one big factor in recovery)?

Hell... Since when did change even mean that it had to be something grand or even good?

Very, very slick. The products that will be devolped from these dyes have great potential. So what if it started as a toy, whatever it takes

Now, imagine if those dyes are attached to a cancer fighting chemical. Inject the chemical, point your tuned laser where you want the reaction to occur, the cancer gets eradicated, and a half hour later the chemical has gone inert due to the dye's reaction...

Good point. Twisting the old reality a bit but still a good point.

This will still make lots of people unhappy (carpet cleaners, dry cleaners etc) as they will no longer have ---fouled up beyond all recognition--- up ---Cleveland steamer--- to ---unsmurf---

A neat trick, for webpages that split articles into multiple pages, is to click on the 'Print This Article" link (if the site has one)...it collates the text on to one page.
