Subject line says it all. My new cab is going to use a PC monitor (21 inch).  Whats the recommended light gun that is most compatible with mame?

I thought the only lightgun which works with Mame is the ActLabs PC  light gun (or Actlabs TV lightgun).  Other than that I never heard of another which works with Mame.

Yeah, actually the Act-labs gun is the best option for a PC monitor. For a TV, you can choose between this and a guncon2.

I have a pair of GunCons (Scorpion 3) working perfectly at 640x480 resolution on a Wells Gardner D9200.

There are working as well or better than the Actlabs (which I also own), AND I can use two of them.

I'm using Smog's driver, and a home built circuit that provides +5 and +9 power to the guns and uses Andy Warne's jpac small chip to get the composite sync from the VGA signal.

If you can build a simple circuit on breadboard, this is a GREAT option.

There are several threads about getting the GunCons working on a PC and a PC monitor in these forums.

Do you think perhaps you could write up a little tutorial for us non-techies on how you did that? I think it be greatly appreciated!

I'm working on a write up for my web page.

Admittedly, it will just be my experience / summary of information available at other places on this forum / SMOG's forum.

Hope to have it done in the next couple of weeks.
