I found some website that has a control panel editor that I played around with for a while. It was good up to a point, but again I relied on other people

I managed to find some supplies on eBay and some directly from websites. It was so much fun to have a delivery happening every day or two over several weeks. It was like friggin Christmas when we tore into the boxes when I got home each day.

I thought about themes and styles (some of you may remember a short thread on the possible Engrish theme, AKA poorly translated Japanese. I was thinking of calling it New Super Fun Happy Joy). I still like the theme ideas but ultimately decided on what could be done easily and relatively cheaply. So the old standby of blue and black was what I went with. I love that look and even though many have done it and it

Nicely done.  I had the same sticker shock when I started my cabinet but it is well worth it in the end.  Again great looking cabinet.

Thanks. I'm starting to lay the groundwork with the wife for the driving-dedicated cab.

Looks good...blue t-mold would give it some more punch but it sounds like your color scheme may change.

Black foam weatherstrip tape is good for hiding those marquee/bezel end-gaps. Put it behind the plexi on both cabinet sides, the thickness you'll need will depend on the gaps..hopefully you just need the thinnest one.

Finally got Daphne up and running. My problem was an issue with the config pointing to the k:(?) drive for the framefile. It had to be changed in the Notes version of the config file rather than through the Daphneloader config. Getting Dragon's Lair on my machine is a total blast from the past. I loved that game so much. It will be fun to finally have an opportunity to get all the way through the game. I configured the other laserdisk games as well. Now that I have the others configured I think i'm going to delete them. They all suck! I'm not even a fan of Space Ace but I figure I'll at least give that one more of a try. But Badlands is horrible! Anything that starts the game with a naration like this, "I was minding my own business when these bad guys killed my wife and kids. For no reason! Then they injured me too. I'm going to get those guys if I have to walk all week!" you know that there wasn't much thought put into it. Super Don Quixote is horrible to play since it tells you exactly what to do at each point. It's like playing a super slow version of Dance Dance Revolution with the controller. Hit left, watch the terrible animation for 5 seconds, hit the button, watch more terrible animation for five seconds, hit right, etc. repeat ad nauseum. Looking forward to getting DL 2 configured tonight.
Next on the list is getting Visual Pinball going. Not sure if I'm to this task. We'll see.
