Help! Radeon 7000 AGP & TV
« on: January 26, 2003, 01:27:56 pm »
Hi,

I am tearing my hair out trying to get either ArcadeOS or AdvMame to work with my ATI Radeon 7000 AGP card on my TV (S-Video). I have tried every configuration (display is ok until I run ArcadeOS or AdvMame) on both and the best I have managed so far is:

AdvMame: a heavily distorted image in AdvMame (running direct)-

ArcadeOS: Can't even see text game list just outputs garbage on the screen.

ArcadeOS works perfectly when outputting to my Philips monitor (haven't tried that with AdvMame).

I'm trying to get all this to work in DOS (don't want to use Windows). I tried Windows 95 through the S-Video on the TV and that worked fine so the S-Video works ok.

My setup is:

AMD Athlon 950MHz
DOS 7 (Using Fragalls MAME CD)
ATI Radeon 7000 AGP (S-Video)
512MB RAM

A search on these forums hasn't so far revealed anything,
so any help would be appreciated.

Regards,
Collywobbles

Can the video card output s-video in dos (at all)? In windows it might work fine but dos is another story.

A lot of times dos will cause problems with compatibility.

Dos works fine as does Windows. I can even run the AdvMame confguration utility advcfg, but none of the settings show a stable image.
