adjustments on WG 4606 monitor
« on: November 20, 2005, 05:37:41 pm »
I just moved a Wells Gardner 4606 out of an old pac man and put it in another game, i am trying to make adjustments to the horizontal position of the image, but there are no controls to do that.  Is there a way to make this adjustment?  Also, i would like to adjust the contrast of the image, and there is no control for that.  Can anyone tell me how to make these adjustments on this monitor?  thanks

The 4600 does not have contrast adjustments. Only brightness (a.k.a. "black level") on the video interface board and the "screen" control pot on the neckboard.

There are "horizontal raster position" and "vertical raster position" jumper posts on the 4600 main board using the red and yellow jumper wires. The locations are shown in the 4600 series monitor manual at mikesarcade.com

thanks Ken,
i will check it out.  I saw the "screen" adjustment, but it did not do much, but i did not see "black level" adjustment.

I downloaded the manual, but there are several buttons mission on my K4606, i do not see the black level, i do not see the jumper for the horizontal position either.  Well, i see 3 pins, but no jumper on any of them.

On the very last page of the 19k4625, 4626, 4675, 4676, 4677 manual there is drawing marked "Rear Chassis Controls" which shows the location of the controls. The horizontal raster position pins (3 pins) should have a red wire jumper that pushes onto one of the desired position pins. Very early production runs of this monitor did not have the jumper wires for these adjustments.
