Last week I decided it was time to move beyond the copy/paste & pixel edit crap I've been doing for the past few years.  Not that I couldn't do more, it's just that I never "got" how everything jived together.  My cousin upgraded his programs for school and I found myself with PSP 8 (Paint Shop Pro 8).  I was using PSP 6, but didn't do much beyond what PSP 5 could do.  So I've spent the past week going through some tutorials online...

http://www.pixel2life.com/ has a pretty long list of tutorials for all kinds of graphics programs and some others.  It says what program the tutorial is for (Bryce, Photoshop, Gimp, etc), but I found that I could do most of the Adobe stuff with PSP without much thought.  If you're staring numb at your paint program each time you go to use it, this is a good place to start plugging through some tutorials.  Most don't take much longer than 5-10 minutes, and you'll start to understand how things are done.  The tutorials are from all over the web, that site just acts like a listing of them.

If someone knows of some good repositories repository's places to download some "extras", I'd sure love to hear about them.  In particular, I'd like to:
1) Find a way to do Adobe's "satin" effect in PSP 8,
2) Figure out some good lens-like gradients for PSP8.
3) Figure out how to shade that lens like it's broken.

I have Adobe Photoshop 5, so if you know I can import anything or know of a good format to create a swap file, I'd appreciate a hint in the right direction.  I also have Eye Candy 3.0 installed, and I have Illustrator 8(ish) laying around somewhere that I need to install.  I know, I know, it's a hodge-podge collection of software...
