At one point she stopped and I said,

"Get 'em! Get 'em, Get 'em!"

"GO!GO!GO!!!"

After that, as she played she kept repeating:

"GO!GO!GO!!!"

"GO!GO!GO!!!"

"GO!GO!GO!!!"

Here are two more of her taking aim at the MCP

Ok, last one, this is how she gets up to the games, she now drags the chair out of the kitchen to the cabinets and climbs up on her own.  I swear I'm gonna bust with pride.

You'll be less proud when she starts beating your scores. ;)

My wife complained that all day today, the baby kept crying for the games.  She finally had to fire them up just to appease the little fragger.

Cool!  She didn't have a problem with Robotron being in an Omega Race cab?

Can she actually see the game through that mask? The chair looks a bit low.

I got my kid hooked on computer games for a while too. Till my wife and the au-pair said it was too annoying (yeah I know, I have no backbone). He wanted the computer switched on every 15 minutes. Now we only play (together) on weekends and I hide the computer during the week.

You should be proud.  How old?

My son is almost one and I've brought him down to the cab a couple times.  Watched me play Pacman for a while, and I swear he would flinch if I was about to be eaten by ghosts.

He did enjoy spinning the trackball quite a bit, too.

Different for everyone I am sure, but we would have benefitted from having another pair of hands around from time to time.  Not saying we would leave her with the aupair, but having one around to take some of the heat off at times would not be a bad thing.  We both have multiple projects going at any given time and our nature is such that we really need that time.  We do ok trading off, but there are times when we both want to break away into another room.

Oddly enough, often times I find myself following my kids around the house so that I can find ways to spend time with them.  Doing what THEY want, in THEIR element, is high quality time.

I don't find myself wanting to break away from my kids to be alone very often at all and I would not be satisfied with my parental instincts if I did.

Didn't mean to take a shot and rewrote it twice to avoid the perception... must have missed.

My 6 year old asked me to hand him the multimeter the other day.  He then proceeded to get a stool, reach into a pin, and measure the resistance of a flipper coil.

Now, granted, the multimeter was already properly set, the playfield raised, etc etc... but he did it correctly at SIX years old.

That is what quality time with the kids is all about.   ;D

ah, the kids are not allowed in the basement without supervision.  It's just not up to safety arrangement for a 6 and a 4 year old.

I get what you're saying, though, that day will come, as it did with me when I took apart my grandmother's vacuum.

How else were you supposed to learn how it worked?  I took everything apart as a kid.

So did I. I certainly was proud the first time I managed to put something back together. ;)
