pacman g07 re-capping Q/A
« on: November 13, 2005, 04:23:52 pm »
I just picked up a pacman cocktail that had no video when i got it. after wiggling some wires and stuff it came back to life although the picture was crappy. I had to turn the power up on the flyback to get a stable sync'd pic. along with everyother power up is a no video. I am sitting here with the caps out on the desk and the iorns warming up getting ready to do this. My concern though is I have some papaer work in the cap kti that talks about removing caps and swapping stuff for an "upgrade" of worts. after reading up on it I am having trouble finding the caps that coinside with this upgrade.the chassis is very clean as I think I am the 1st human to touch it since it was built seeing as it has been in a basement since it was new I think.

thx

I just did a cap kit on the G07 CB0 monitor, and my kit did NOT come with the sync upgrade.  After I installed all the caps with the kit, I still had my curl problem. (you may not have this issue anyways)  I ended up going to Radio Shack and getting a replacement CAP needed for the swap.  After tuning the monitor, my picture is almost perfect. (still 1 bug to find)  If you do have the parts for the sync upgrade, I would do it.  It's not bad taking it apart a second time, but still a pain.  Do it all in one go if at all possible.

Best Regards

C303 is near the upper left of the board and C501 is near the center of the board just above the silver metal shield cover.

After finishing the kit be sure to reinstall that metal shield cover.
