Mamewah artwork fields
« on: November 12, 2005, 08:01:53 pm »
I formated my hard drive and didn't save my Mamewah folder, so I reinstalled it and everything works fine exept the artwork fields. #1 works but the other ones don't(I tried #2 to #5). I installed the system files and registered paintx.dll. Also in the layout the field emu name apears even if I disable it. I'll post my mame.ini file:

are you sure you have the folder names right? because in my mame folder its not "marqees" and "snaps" . its "snap" and "marqee" .. just a thought.

Have you rechecked the actual layout to see that it it's using the other artwork fields?  The default mamewah layout just uses the Artwork Image #1 only.  Perhaps the layout.lay file you created isn't the layout being used when you run mamewah.

### Misc Options ###
layout                      Classic 800x600

I tried with a layout I downloaded and it had artwork1 and 2 and I tried creating one and it has the same problem. I really don't know what is the problem...

On another note a cool feature for mamewah would be adding a Current Song for the fields you can add in the layout designer.

I'm not sure, but since the Artwork #1 displays you obviously have all the system files installed OK.

All I can think of is what has already been suggested: check your layout has the correct artwork object #'s, and check the paths are correct  :-\

I can say I triple checked, tried to put them in low case and uper case and tried every artwork field and only #1 show up. Can the other fields display .png files?

Yes.

Have you looked in mamewah.log to see if there is any indication there of what might be wrong?

I checked and I don't think there is a problem but i'll post a link to my mamewah.log:
http://rotdteam.sourceforge.net/mamewah.log I remember I had a similar problem for version 0.97 but never tried to fix it.

Looks fine...

Strange but no-one else has mentioned the problem so it must be a configuration problem somewhere.

I suppose you could try the new beta version (from the Mamewah board) but to be honest it shouldn't make a lot of difference.
