you didn't even get that little page that said, "congratulations, such and such on such and such."?  or did you overlook the month in the confirmation?

Everything has worked out quite well in that the AirTran
customer service representative told us, "This happens all the time..."  She
removed our "no show" status and used the previous flight payments as
credits towards new flights.

We are now booked for NOVEMBER, and yes I have checked it again and again!
She was also nice enough to waive the change fee for each ticket.  With the
credit, our oversight has cost us an additional $80, and in my mind that is
a small price to pay, it could have been much worse.  We can absorb that
with no problems and put this whole episode behind us.

I think the best part of this is that we found out BEFORE we tried to fly.
If this blew up on our travel date, I may have had to contact a family
member to sort it out.  The last thing in the world I would want is this
little gem to become the topic of converation over a Thanksgiving holiday.
My brother especially, would never have let me hear the end of it.

One of the wondrous parental nights
when baby can't get happy, phone ringing off the hook, people knocking at
the door, and we try to multitask through this and book the flights during
dinner.

You have just described every night in my household. It is not funny anymore. I get confused trying to take out the trash at this point :-[

Apparantly the airline CS rep is also a dad of a 6yr old and an infant ;)

Your right that could have been much much worse.

Surprisingly you seem to have found one of the three confirmed decent employees in the airline customer service industry... :)
