My usual source for these boards is electronicamuse@aol.com These are Jamma so you need a Jamma cabinet to plug it into.

The 4 position hardware dip switch originally only had a single function assigned to it and that was to select the type of video signal being outputted, either CGA (standard res) or VGA.

Here's the hardware dip switch settings:

1: Picture orientation; off for normal picture, on if your picture comes on upside down in your cabinet

2: Display video mode; off for CGA (15.75 khz), on for VGA (31.5 khz). Note if turned on your video signal is outputted through the VGA monitor connector built into the game board.

3: High Score Save mode; off is disabled, on is enabled

4: not assigned or used at this time

The little yellow trimpot is the master volume control, but there is also a programmable volume level accessible thru the game's test/setup menu.

All other options/adjustments are done thru the software 'dip' switch settings in the self-test/setup menu.

With the power off, push and hold the test switch in your Jamma cabinet while turning the power back on (you might need a helper). You should now come up with the monitor red-green-blue colored squares pattern. let go of the test switch as soon as this comes on. Now to get to the next page in the menu (the cabinet/system setup), push the test switch again. The cabinet/setup menu sets the pricing to play the machine ("Dip Sw 1") and attract mode/game play music & cocktail or upright cabinet ("Dip Sw 2"). Use the joystick to move thru the switch numbers and the fire button to toggle the setting between on or off. After you have them set the way you want, press the player one start button to lock it all in and advance to the next pages which are the individual game software dip switch adjustments.

On Ms pac's menu to change from hearts to dots, set DIP SW 1 position 7 from off to on. On Galaga's menu to set from 5 ships to 3, set DIP SW 1 positions 7 to on and 8 to off. Remember to push the player one start button to lock in and save your settings for each game you are adjusting before exiting this mode or you won't save the new settings.
