Problem with ZSNES?
« on: November 03, 2005, 04:25:59 am »
I am launching the hacked znes from screenshotarchives.com(no GUI, esc to exit) via mamewah on my cab.
Now im not sure if there is something wrong but my two year old loves to play zsnes, and whenever I leave him to load a ROM of his choice he calls me after a while and I find the controls are unresponsive. I have to alt tab out and in again to get things working.
Has anyone had this problem?
Any suggestions?

This has happened with several different ROMS. although granted, my 2 yr old like to hammer on lots of buttons at once...

I use zsnes on my cab and I have never experienced your problem so I don't know how to fix it.

You don't need to use the hacked version of zsnes. You can use the normal version. Just set GUIDisable to 1 in the config file. Then the gui will be hidden and you use esc to exit.

the last stable version (1.42).

I found when disabling the GUI for zsnes the games didn't work well.  I don't know what combination of switches to put in the command line format for mamewah.

I ended up keeping the GUI.  The UP DOWN arrows will scroll you through the drop down menus and I have a shift key to give me Tab and Enter.

The only problem I've had with ZSNES is that I mapped Start and Select to my P1 and Coin keys.  ZSNES uses these to disable graphics layers, so I get a simultaneous Start input and a 1 input which shuts off some graphics.  I could just change the P1 and Coin keys but that generates a lot work to change all of the mame configs.
