DC Steering Wheels
« on: October 27, 2005, 01:55:08 am »
Has anyone had any experience with this Dreamcast steering wheel?

http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000023MCL/ref=br_lf_vg_h__1/026-1162736-0803657

There are a couple of conflicting reviews on amazon so I would like to get someones opinion on here if possible.

If it is a load of --FrancoAutoCensor-- then can anybody recommend a decent DC wheel (and preferably) pedel set.

Thanks

It looks sexy... but I've never used any DC steering wheel.  Sorry.   :P

I have not used the MC2 wheel for Dreamcast, but I have used the one for Xbox and the universal version for Xbox, PS2, and Gamecube.

It is a decent wheel out of the box, but the springs in it are a bit too light. Replace those with some stiffer springs (very easy operation), and you have an excellent wheel (as far as non FF wheels go that is).

Got one - don't care for it.  Seems to be plagued by an inability to calibrate.  It would be working fine, then steer in the opposite direction for no apparent reason.  Perhaps the pot is bad or dying?  There is a certain amount of sway (or dead zone) that you can program into it, but I didn't have much luck.

HOWEVER, To be perfectly honest, I did not spend very much time with it.  Perhaps if I dedicated an hour or two I could configure it properly for each game.
