Terminator T-800
« on: October 18, 2005, 09:17:08 am »
I used to be really into building sci-fi scale models, but I haven't built one in probably two years. This weekend I guess I caught the bug again. Went to my never ending supply of unbuilt kits and grabbed the one that caught my eye. Considering the fact that I haven't so much as looked at my model stuff in so long I think this one didn't turn out half bad.

Sorry about the crappy pics, I seriously need to get a new camera.

I built the base entirely from scratch using a scrap piece of 1x4 pine and a handfull of junk from my parts box. I think it looks pretty spiffy, it certainly looks a lot better than the base that came with the kit.

As has already been established, yes, I am aware that I'm a hopeless nerd. ;) :D

that looks awesome--although his foot should be on a human skull--more authentic to the movie ;D

HA! I can get away with a lot at work, but I'm pretty sure that if I fired up the airbrush and started fuming the place up, questions would be asked. :D

Menace, rest assured that if there had been a skull in scrap box, it would have made it onto the base.

It would have been better had he been stepping on a pelvis.

Skull is cliche... when you have a loose pelvis, you know someone got REALLY effed up.

Well considering that it's going to be displayed in my office along with the other robot kits that I've built over the years, it seemed for the best that I not get too graphic.

Why do people put "what people say about me" in their sigs?

If I were to do that, not only would it be 50 pages long, but most of it would sound like it came out of a Tourette's Syndrome sufferer during an incoherent rage.

Too late. I already got a FM X-Wing out of the box and started cleaning up some of the parts. There is an R2 in the kit though. It's about 1/4 inch tall. ;D

Make a full scale model and roll around the office in it. Great fun in meetings.
Now in a tasty new flavour.

A full scale mode is the plan on that one. However, my construction ideas proved to be more problematic than I expected. I still plan to do it, but inspiration is gonna have to strike before I can proceed. I've gone back to smaller scale stuff.

I am fully satisfied with being the Chief Kicker.  Short, to the point, and it officially gives me the right to put a boot up in someone's ass when I deem it appropriate.

A man can't ask for much more than that.
