Whats the latest AVGA?

Hi I'm thinking of getting an AdvanceVGA formy cabinet but I'm wondering which the latest revision is, and how I can convince my supplier to ship me one of those and not an old one that's lying around in stock. Does anyone know of a revision history for them with version specifics?

The Ultimarc website doesn't mention anything about versions... I'm sure I've readit somewhere before, the revision history of AVGA.

I found it was cheaper for me to buy it from Andy (and ship it to Australia).

Also I'm not sure if there's much difference between the two cards. If there is, is it just cosmetic? (And I know the connectros on the new one are different).

I think the old one is 32 meg and the new one is 64 meg. The old one has a standard vga output as well as the avga output so you can use it on a pc monitor.

The old one is based on the 7000 series Radeon...the new one is based on the 9000 series.

...which doesn't make much difference for MAME, but for PC games or other emulators that utilize a 3d graphics card the 9000series AVGA cards are much more powerful.

The current one is Radeon 9250 based, 128 Mb. These have been around for a while so Ozstick would not have the R7000 version in stock any more.

Hey Andy, are you developing a pci express card yet?


AGP boards are getting harder and harder to get.

(I work for a computer distributor and currently we have 0, thats right 0 current product skus that are available with AGP)

Thats from a selection of about 12 different mbs, both amd and intel. (ok mostly intel)
