Burger Time Logo vectorised....
« on: October 13, 2005, 09:18:08 am »
...its done but I need some help.....what do I do when I have lots of layers of where I have traced?

Also how do you cut out inside a vector leaving a hole?

Anyway heres what I did....it may help someone finish off the Burger Time Marquee etc.....once I have answers I'll upload it to the Library...

BTW this is my first ever vector! and I'm very pleased with the final results....

re: Also how do you cut out inside a vector leaving a hole?

In Illustrator; The hole object should be on top. The shape object should be below. Select the shape object, then the hole object. Select the menu item "object > compound path > make"

This SHOULD create the hole. The shape object can't be a group... just a single object... if it's a group, it won't work correctly.

RE: Layers
You can merge layers down OR, you can group layers into folders (that's what I usually do) Find these options in the layer pallette.

Thanks for the tips......flattening the image don't half make the file size small!

Its gone from 32Mb to 155Kb! WOW!

Should have done this ages ago!

Anyway it's in the library...onwards and upwards.....

I think I've got the BTime marquee vectorized at home, I'll have to check it out. I posted a WIP a while back...

You are what your name suggests....a JoyMonkey! Why, didnt you post it to the library?

It would have saved me some time! Doesnt matter it gave me some experience vectoring....I'm new at this stuff....

I don't think I finished it. I did post in the WIP thread though.

Here's my post from April (I really should get that finished, I know I did more work than is shown in the post)

Looks nice...I look forward to seeing it complete!

As I said I'm only pullign ya chain, besides two things

Firstly, it was an exellent excersise for me to vector and learn..

and Secondly, your image idicates you hadn't fully completed the name so I would have been stuffed anyway....
