Help with mame resolution tool

I must be doing something completely boneheaded.
I am trying to use mame resolution tool to get the proper res for games such as mortal kombat etc. Anyhow, I set my ini dir to c:\mame\ini and for some really odd reason when i launch mamewahconfig every single ini file generated by the res tool shows up as an emulator
Please help.
