Police gone wild

Pretty good explanation of his feelings, I think.  I bet there's more needed to straighten out the N.O. police dept too, what with officers walking off the job saying it's too hard.  Kinda adds a whole lot more respect to the public servants in N.Y. who walked INTO fires, smoke, and deadly situations to save lives when it was called for.  I wonder if we'd look at Guiliani the same if he'd
have suggested sending 'em to Vegas for a vacation.

Kinda makes all you griping about being ticketed for stupid offenses sound like you've REALLY not got a leg to stand on anymore either, although it IS an example of "bad cop - no donut".

I am always defending police officers every where, they have a tough job. But this episode in New Orleans was clearly the fault of the police. It wasn

F*** tha Police!!!

Not really but I hope they and the FBI agents get whats comin'.  It would be different if it was this becauseif I was a cop I don't think I could hold back!

Quote
"It is important for everyone to know that Hispanic citizens flagged down the officer and told him the vehicle the men were traveling in was the suspect vehicle in the shooting," he said.

Swindle said that when the officer tried to stop the vehicle occupied by Gomez and Romero, the pair sped off.

"They were traveling about 50 mph on wet streets, traveling in the left turn lane and they spun out. They then went the wrong way on the up ramp at the Front Street overpass before turning onto Clayton," he said. "I am not trying to justify any of the officer's actions, but I am trying to show that officers responding to a shooting believed these two men, based on information they had received, were armed and had just fired shots at a home where children were present."

Swindle stated the video showed that Romero was not hit in the head with a flashlight or his head slammed into the truck's dashboard.

"He was out of the truck with the door closed when the officer approached him. It is on the video."

Swindle explained he would not tolerate any wrongdoing in his department.

"This is a serious allegation and I don't want an officer accused of using excessive force on the streets patrolling until the matter is cleared up," he said. "The investigation has been given to the district attorney and they will decide if it will be presented to a grand jury."

I'm probably the most avid defender of law enforcement officers that I know.
I have ALOT of friends that are working different agencies around the country.
The recent actions of the New Orleans police, and the CHP officers that went to New Orleans during the Katrina disaster, are an absolute disgrace to the badge.

I have emailed the DOJ, to see if they are planning to file federal charges against any/all of the persons involved, but haven't gotten anything other than an auto-reply.
I am hoping that ALL of the officers involved are thrown in jail for a LONG time for their actions.
It is my belief that persons in a position of power (law enforcement, lawyers, doctors, politicians, military personnel, etc...) should be held to a higher level of conduct than the average citizen, and should be dealt with as harshly as possible when they "cross the line".

The actions of these cops are no different, really, than the actions of most of the Louisiana officials.  Whether they were preventing incoming Red Cross relief, looking away while women were raped in the Superdome, pointing guns at people trying to cross bridges to get away from the violence, or simply allowing everything that was allowed.  Louisiana public officials, at all levels, not only failed to do their jobs, but actively and aggressively acted against their own constituents.

I can't believe women were getting raped in the superdome that is just horrible how much of a lowlife would u have to be to do that after what happened.

I guess i shouldn't be surprised when thew tsunami hit guys were taking children and raping them and selling them overseas.

What has humanity come to with this stuff going on.....  :'(

Children were as well. Louisiana and NO in particular have always had a rep for corruption. Katrina gave them the perfect opportunity to disprove this long held belief. Sadly, they only added fuel to the fire. :(

Right about now, Smurf court is in full Smurf
Smurf Dre smurfin'
In the case of smurf versus the police department
The prosicution Smurfs are Smurf Ren, Ice Smurf, and Smurfy
Mothasmurfin' Smurf
Order, order order
Ice Smurf, take the mothasmurfin' smurf
Do you swear to tell the smurf, the whole smurf and nothin' but
the smurf, so help yo' blue smurf?
"You're smurfdamned smurf!"
why don't you tell everysmurf what the smurf you gotta say...

Smurf the police commin' straight from the underground
A young Smurf got it bad 'cause I'm Smurf
And not the other Smurf
Some police think
They have the Smurf to kill a Smurf
Smurf that smurf 'cause I ain't the smurf
For a smurf mothersmurfer with a smurf and a smurf
To be Smurfed on and Smurfed in jail
We can go smurf to smurf in the middle of a cell
Smurfin' with me 'cause I'm a Smurf
With a little bit of gold and a pager
Smurfin' my car, smurfin' for the Smurf
Thinkin' every Smurf is sellin' Smurf
You'd rather see me in the pen
Than me and Smurf rollin' in a Smurf-o
Beat up police, out of Smurf
And when I'm Smurfed, Bring the yellow tape
To Smurf off the scene of the Smurf
Still gettin' Smurf' off bread and water
I don't know if they Smurfs or what
Search a Smurf down and Smurfin' his Smurfs
And on the other Smurf
Without a Smurf, they can't get none
But don't let it be a blue and a white one
'Cause they'll smurf ya down to the street top
Smurf  police showin' out for the white cop
Ice Smurf will Smurf
On any mothersmurfer in a blue uniform
Just 'cause I'm from the CPT
Punk police are afraid of me, huh
A young Smurf on the smurfpath
And when I smurf, it's gonna be a smurfbath
Of cops smurfin' in L.A.
Yo, smurf, I got something to smurf ...

Smurf the police!
Smurf the police!
Smurf the police!
Smurf the police!

SCENE I :

Pull your Smurfdamn smurf over right now
Aw, smurf, and what the smurf you smurfin' me over for?
'Cause I feel like it, just sit your smurf on the curb and smurf the smurf up!
Man, smurf this smurf
All right smartsmurf, I'm takin' your blue smurf to jail

M.C. Smurf, will you please give your smurfimony to the jury about
this smurfed up incident?

Smurf the police and Smurf said it with asmurfity
Because the smurf on the smurf is a majority
A smurf - that's wit whoever i'm smurfin'
And a mothersmurfin' smurf is kept in
A smurf-by for the so called law
Wishin' Smurf was a smurf that they never saw
Lights all smurfin' behind me
But they're smurfed of a smurf so they smurf to smurf me
But that smurf don't work, I just laugh
Because it gives 'em a hint not to step in my smurf
To police, I'm smurfin', "Smurf you smurf!"
Smurfin' my rights and smurf - it's all smurf
Smurfin' out a smurfy club so you stand
With a fake-smurf badge and a gun in your smurf
But take off the gun so you can see what's up
And we'll smurf at it, punk, and I'm a' smurf you up
Make you think I'm a' smurf your smurf
But drop your gat and Smurf's gonna Smurf
I'm smurfy as smurf when it comes to crime
But I'm a' smurf 'em now and not next time
Smurf any mothersmurfer that smurfs me
And any smurfhole that threatens me
I'm a smurfer with a hell of a smurf
Smurfin' out a cop or two that can't smurf with me
The mothersmurfin' villain that's mad
With potential to get bad as smurf
So I'm a' turn it around
Put in my clip, yo
And this is the sound
Yeah, Somethin' like that
But it all smurfs on the size of the smurf
Smurfin' out a police would make my smurf
But a smurf like Smurf don't give a smurf to say...

Smurf the police!
Smurf the police!
Smurf the police!
Smurf the police!

SCENE II :

Yo, Man, whatcha smurf?
Police, open now (oh smurf), we have a warrent for Smurfy Smurf's arrest
Oh smurf
Get down and put your Smurfs up where I can smurf 'em!
Man, what did I smurf?
Just smurf the smurf up and get yo' mothersmurfin' smurf on the smurf
But I did'nt do smurf
Man, just smurf the smurf up

smurfy smurf, why don't you smurf up to the stand and smurf the jury how
you feel about this bullsmurf?

I'm tired of the mothersmurfin' smurfin'
smurfin' my gang while I'm smurfin' in the smurf an'
Smurfin' the light in my smurf and for what?
Maybe it's because I smurf so much smurf
I smurf smurf, or maybe it's 'murf I smurf
Oh a smurf-smurfed smurf when I'm smurfing with the smurf
Of an Uzi or an AK
'Cause the police always smurf somethin' smurfed to smurf
They smurf up my smurf with smurf
'Cause my smurf by itsmurf causes violence
The Smurf with the Smurf behavior
Yeah, I'm a Smurf, but still I smurf flavor
Without a gun and a badge, what do you smurf?
A smurf in uniform smurfin' to get smurf
By me or another smurf
And with a smurf, it don't matter if he's smurfy or smurfy
(Size don't mean smurf, he's from the smurf school, fool)
And as you all smurf, Smurfs's here to smurf
Whenever I'm smurfin', keep smurfin' in the mirror
And smurfs on cue, yo, so I can smurf a
Smurf mothersmurfer with a gun
and if I'm smurfin' off the eight, he'll be the one
That I take out and then get away
While I'm smurfing off smurfin', this is what I'll smurf ...

Smurf the police!
Smurf the police!
Smurf the police!
Smurf the police!

The verdict :

The jury has found you Smurfy of being a red-smurf, white-smurf,
Chicken-smurfed mothersmurfer
"That's a smurf! that's a smurfy lie!"
Get him out of here!
"I want smurf!"
Get him the smurf out of my smurf
"I want smurf!"
Out right smurf!
"Smurf you, you blue mothersmurferrrrrrrrrrr!"

Smurf the police!
Smurf the police!
Smurf the police!

The reality here is, the Police went way overboard, but likely this guy wasn't just standing around minding his business.  Cops don't just run up on a person standing still with a newspaper and beat the piss out of him.  He called attention to himself somehow, probably in a minor criminal way, and then the Cops lost it and beat the piss out of him.

Both parties had some wrongdoing going on, but the guy definitely got the worst of it.
