Cops are Not Nice (Whoops)
« on: October 05, 2005, 02:06:48 pm »
Today i'm driving to work (not a good start to the afternoon). I'm sitting at the intersection, cigarette smoke filling the car when I notice a cop behind me. Good time to exercise restraint.

Driving along.....cop passes me....I pass the cop....etc etc. We get to a school zone where the limit drops from 70km/h to 40. So I slow down since the pig is not far behind me in the next lane. A good song comes up on the radio so I loose concentration for a moment and notice I'm on 50 (but it still fells like i'm standing still). I slow down and I notice the pig all of a sudden pulls out and speeds towards me but no lightshow. *bit nervous*. We're back to 70 and he's still on my tail. Both lanes empty so I change lanes, he comes up behind me. Change lanes again, he does the same. This dance repeats itself 2-3 more times. At this point I feel like slamming on the brakes. We get to an intersection, he pulls up next to me. I look at him and he's laughing his ass off. I wasn't.

Nice to see my tax dollars pay these sorts of clowns.  >:(

You consistently have issues with police while driving.

You are the common component of every instance.

Maybe bosss7 should try putting pants on while he's driving.

Or he should stop throwing donuts out the window.

Or he should get medication to control his raging Tourette's.

Or he should scrape off the DIE COP DIE bumper sticker.

Sorry, had to change title, against forum rules, and an obvious one at that.

You should have slowed down well below 70 in hte 70 zone then :).

I got a good one. I'm heading back to my college dorm  - kind of out of the way, away from main streets and houses. I see two cop cars race past me, lights going, sirens, the works. Traffic stops as they cruise through a red light.  As I turn off the main street, onto a side street, I see the same two cop cars parked next to a building.

One cop is "hiding" behind a trash dumpster pointing his gun at the other cops who are crouched over the hood of their car. They were pretending to shoot each other behind cover. They're laughing and playing "cops and robbers".

Chad, from the stories you tell about when you were young and the types of people you hung out with and stuff I get the impression that you absolutely were not Martin from The Simpsons.  When did you become him?  Forget people who ride scooters; if I had access and weren't half your size I would come over there and beat your ass for that comment.

I realise that as a moral human being I probably should have shaken his hand and dry humped him for charging me $100 for going 5 MPH over the speed limit instead of being cool and just giving me a warning. I guess I'm just not that moral because I only got pissed off. :D

Once I was pulled over by a state trooper for speeding on the expressway. The cop doesn't get out of the car but over the bull horn I hear, "Do you know what the speed limit is?"

I've never seen a speed limit higher than 70.  What state were you in?

Max speed in Oklahoma is 75 mph.

Utah.  I know it's 75 in Nevada and Idaho.  In Montana there are places where there is no speed limit during the daytime.

A couple of years ago on the bike I was out and thrashing it real hard on a freeway. I passed a car doing close on 300km/h (110km/h limit). In my revision mirror I spotted a flashing light and realised I had just smoked it past an unmarked cop car.

I thought bugger it, I ain't stopping, I will just keep on the gas for another minute and see if he comes after me then plead ignorance in seeing his lights. No matter what course of action I took I was gunna be in serious trouble anyway.

Never seen him again, no road block up the road, nothing in the mail and no surprise visit at my door at 3:00am in the morning.

Living the delusional lifestyle.

There are ---uvulas--- on the Police force just like there are ---uvulas--- in real life.

People complain more about the ---uvulas--- because they feel impotent in dealing with them.

I just gained  alot of respect for you Chad.

I had an incident with a woman cop couple years ago.

every morning driving to work about 7am I would always see her.

day 1.  She pulls me over, she "thought" I didn't have my seatbelt on, I did. - no ticket

day 2.  She pulls me over, she "thought" I was speeding, I wasn't. - no ticket

day 3.  Shes going the other way and passes me whips it around and pulls me over,     get this for speeding and not wearing a seatbelt, I wasn't speeding and I had my seatbelt on.  - no ticket

day 4.  She pulls me over and before she says anything I ask her if she wants to go on a date or something.  Because I cant figure out why she keeps pulling me over.  Her face goes bright red, shes embarrassed.  She walks back to her car and leaves and I never see her again. - No ticket and No date(thank god cause she was large).

Lessee...

I was coming up to a right turn, and instead of stepping on the brakes, downshifted to slow down.  Made my right turn, and was shortly thereafter pulled over by one of the towns finest.

He wanted to see my brake lights - assuming that since I slowed down without visible brake lights, they were broken in some way and he'd get to write me up for that.  I hit the brakes, the lights came on.

He let me go with a "Use your brakes next time" threat.

Personal Rant follows:

While I'd never want their job, or deny them anything to promote their safety, I think the new ultra-brite LED warning strobes all the local PD's are switching to need to be banned.  It's like watching someone weld - you just can't tear your eyes away from the lights.  I figure someone'll drive into a cop on the side of the road and blame it on the lights, and that'll be the end of them.
But wasn't it fun to think you won the lottery, just for a second there???
