monitor compatibility
« on: October 04, 2005, 09:45:53 pm »
Hello,

I have  a non working WG 19K4626 in a cabinet right now and I want to take it out - it was playing a horizontal game (super dodge ball, yea baby!!) - will it be compatible to put in a WG 19K4613 that I believe held swimmer (veritcal game) previously?

Basically, I guess what I am asking is - is it the pcb that determines the horizontal/vertical orientation of the screen, or is it the monitor itself? will this work w/out seeing things crooked? I want to still play super dodge bal, or another horizontal game.

Appreciate any input!! - Thanks!

The gameboard determines the picture orientation (horizontal or vertical) on the screen of the monitor.

ok -
so does that mean that I can put the working monitor into the cab and that it will play a horizontal game without being screwed up eventhough it was previously playing a vertical game?

Why is it then that the technician I bought the machine from told me that I would have to match the pcbs I buy and only play  games with that same monitor orienatation?

If you have a horizontal game you need your monitor Mounted Horizontally
If you have a vertical game you need to mount the monitor vertically

it could be that the monitor / cabinet combination you have does not allow the monitor to be rotated and that could be why the tech said you have to stick to one orientation.
