It's getting stupid now the lengths they go too to make a fake jamma board.

Link

300 games in 1 jamma board.

It's a MII 6000E Mini itx squished between 2 boards with a keyboard encoder and plugs made onto the board.

Granted i think it's smart what he's done but selling it for $700 is a rip

i can see what he's done only thing i don't know is how he did the video signal if he used a japac or something or used other means.

Still cool but stupid he should of ATLEAST used a 60w morex psu then it would all be in the one box  ::)

Their website says $310 for the 400 in 1.

Anyone know if their boards are any good?  Real games, or just crappy remakes?

They are real roms and their price sheets which they send out in a mailing list is the current price. As of the 15th $268. It's clearly MAME running on modified mobo with a built in JPAC like device.

Check out "Quick but good MAME cab" under projects.

It's for a friend of mine... I have the AVGA and Jpac all ready, but am also looking at a multigame board here and there.  The cost is usually about the same for a multigame board as it is for the avga/jpac/pc/powerstrip/pc speakers blah blah.

I have one at home. If you send them an email they respond very quickly. It has all of the games that most people consider keepers. Neo-Geo, Classics, CPS Fighters, etc...

Not sure if it mentions it on the website, but they now take PAYPAL and CC payments. This is pretty uncommon for a Japanese Importer. Most only do wire transfers, etc..

They may be getting flooded from all the attention this board and Chad gets.  ;D

Hrm... yeah, that's less risky than a wire transfer, that's for sure.  You could screw them with Paypal if you wanted, not that I'd do such a thing.

Pretty silly putting After Burner 2 in IMO, since it needs an analog stick to play decent.  None of the other games do as far as I could see.

As a NAOMI owner and Dreamcast fanatic.... use a Dreamcast, it's cheaper and there are very little differences in audo / video quality if you use an amp and VGA in conjuntion with the DC.

NAOMI emulation is years off with the approach that MAME team has in not utilizing 3D architecture. Chankast which has been out for a while now still sucks at emulating the DC and it will take considerably more horse power to emulate the NAOMI.

What is pansy-ass, in my eyes, is a bunch of people jumping up and down, screaming, pointing fingers, making signs, avatars, pissing their pants, without first rationally considering the case.  I have seen no evidence around here of a discussion on the level of which I was managing.  We actually got through some very valid possibilities, points, counter points, and it had quality debate on the topic.

I wasn't defending him in spirit nearly as much as I was defending him such that a high quality discussion of the subject would take place.  The only way that discussion was going to take place was is someone took a controlled, rational, and intelligent position in the manner I did.  We had to have both sides represented.

Right, did you see the things he was defending against.  he wasn't defending ultracade's trying to take the mame logo, he was defending their right to protect their IP.  I say that too.  They have the right to do that.  How they did that is a different issue.

Yep. We had two arguements at once. Still, two wrongs don't make a right. Why should the mamedevs get screwed because people are selling OMG TEH CHEAP MAME on EBay?

Okay.

Much of that argument, the point against Foley, was about his going after EMDKay.  Let's say, for this point, that EMDKay was not using MR Do.  That EMDKay was only using the MAME logo.

I was waiting the entire time for someone to ask whether or not EMDKay had any legal right to be selling the MAME logo in the first place.

I was under the impression that it wasn't an issue at all if someone chose to print the MAME logo, at least before Foley started stirring the pot.

Oh and it was a little cut and pasting.

It would be if the artist wanted it to be.  That is a copyright issue, and copyrights exist from the moment something is recorded.

Right, but clearly the artist didn't care, otherwise as the legal copyright holder, he would have been the one shooting off C&Ds, and I'd have no problem with that.

We really don't know that.  What I was hoping someone would say, and I let it go unsaid waiting for it to be said, was that EMDKay was selling something he didn't own in the first place.

Sure, if it was only the MAME logo, Foley had no right to send the C+D, but how hard does one fight when they are selling something they didn't own.  That is probably why EMDKay barely provided any defense or corroration other than that email thread.

Well again, before the Foley trademark incident, most people took the MAME logo to be more or less public domain, but point taken.

It's an ugly little circle.  Dude1 is selling something he doesn't own.  Dude2 comes along and says he owns it, stop selling that or pay me royalties.  Dude2 doesn't really own it either, but Dude1 complies for some reason.

someone does own it but it gets lost in the midst of the TM arguments.

Who does actually own the MAME logo. The guy who actually created it?
