Mamewah v1.62b6 testing
« on: September 21, 2005, 06:58:32 pm »
Just wanted to let the board know that minwah's latest version seems to be close to being set.  From what I got over at mameworld is that the basics are set and that minor things will be changed.  With that being said, I wanted to see if anybody out there would start testing if they haven't already to help with the progress.

You can find mamewah 1.62b6 @
http://www.mameworld.info/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=48074&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&fpart=1&vc=1&new=1127346354

and as near as I can tell, JCrouse has updated .ini's at his site ready to go.

Thanks Minwah for a great program, and I hope the rest of us can help you get this version rocking!

My INI files are for beta 4 not beta 6. They are slightly different but you can use the same command line parameters.

I'm trying to join in the beta-test party...

I've missed all the recent updates and see there are loads of changes. Is there any current docs for all the ini files? I'm guessing its just the mameworld posts...?

Posting some working samples may help people jump onboard...

Silver, I realize this is no help for everyone but feel free to email me directly with any questions if you like. The email is on my CPViewer website. The new system is different but much more logical and intuitive.

Thanks jcrouse, I may well take you up on that.

The post was mainly for general encouragment (well ok maybe not - but I really should be getting these ini files now I've been staring at them all day... ;-) )

I'm getting it, although fighting a constant battle with time in recent months. Not even started on my cab...still! I think I posted questions regarding routing tips after I bought a router all ready to rock and roll over a YEAR ago. Now thats bad.....

Its also quite clear you've been a champion-tester for mamewah in recent times. All the info on your site is great btw - and very helpful (and nice layouts).

Oh, but I still think having a mamewah specific mame.ini is confusing, but shhh... don't tell Minwah...  ;D

I would also like to be a beta tester, but feel the time pinch as well.  I wonder how close we're getting to another non-beta release of Mamewah?  Also, jcrouse, would you mind posting an example of your mame.ini for beta 6?  Or is it so logical that I should just be able to figure out the changes from beta 4?

I'm still running 1.61 on my cab, since Minwah recommended that I wait to upgrade, since he is changing so much so rapidly and I would probably not have the time to change my mamewah ini's every week.

Mamewah 1.61 has been nearly flawless for me.  I love this program..  And it impresses all my friends. ;D  It's great that so many folks like jcrouse support it and test it.  So thanks a million.

Cheers,
KenToad
