I say certain things repeatedly around here. Which ones are you personally most annoyed with?

You may select multiple choices, so vote away.

I chose option 1.  Although now that I've been working for an arcade company for a while now, I can tell you that newer games are coming right from the factory with plexi.  They're even doing that "use 5/8" plywood, with 1/8" plexi, and route the wood for that thickness" thing.

Really man, the scooter thing. This needs to stop and stop now, I find it ugly and offensive and you ought to go hide in the dark and be ashamed of yourself.

What sort of scooters?  Lambretta's / Vespa's are cool.  Mopeds are not.

Mopeds, scooters, everything of this nature.

I dig big bore bikes, I can't even for a moment tolerate the scooter fetish. It's like a genetic condition that I have zero control over.

Scooters. They are like drinking light beer or smoking THC free pot. There simply is no point.  :police:

Heh, I can see why you feel like that.  Old Lambretta's etc. can go upto about 70mph tho.  No superbike but a bit more fun than a 30mph moped.  I've always wanted a Lambretta TV200: http://www.scootopia.com/tv200racer.htm

I do not mind a scooter. I just never figured out why people love em.
If you can find one for $500.00 or less OK but more then that get a real bike.
I see them for sail around here for $2,000.00 or more. You can get a nice motor cycle for that much.

As far as the other questions. Nope don't bother me 1 once. I asked them also.
I do have a quick temper but only to things that directly affect me. or a point directed at me I think is false. a simple question, Nope, I do not get up set at

Keeping in mind the type of scooter I'm talking about, it probably depends where you come from.  If you're English / British then scooters have the mod appeal of the 60's.  Mods had scooters, rockers had bikes.  I would've been a mod, they're cool.  I have my green parka with me now.  Watch Quadraphenia if you have no idea what I'm on about :)

I'm going to have to go with the scooters as well. I see where you are coming from on the rest of them. But honestly man I'd have to kick my own --I'm attempting to get by the auto-censor and should be beaten after I re-read the rules-- if I rode a scooter. What ever works for you though. I am still waiting to see a picture of you hauling a cab on a scooter though.  ;D

I used to pump gas at a servo part time during my school years. I remember it vividly, it was the mid 80's and some dork rocks up on his scooter with all the tassels and studs in his leather. He looked very foolish.

He asked me to fill it up and it took like $1.20

This was more than a decade before I discovered motor bikes but even then, in a moment of clarity, something told me this was all wrong and that I should want nothing to do with such clownery.

This is my idea of a scooter:

So clearly I chose the scooter thing as my first choice. Coming in a close second is the plexi on the CP thing. I hate that more than Bones hates Lambrettas.

And motorcycles are a bit on the organ donor side, so it evens out pretty well.

Scooters - efficient but dorky
Motorcycles - superiority complex leads to natural selection

Take a guess at the mortality statistics for scooters vs motorcycles.  Some people seem to care about living more than others.

Chad... Dude... You got it all wrong. Chicks dig bikes and dudes with bikes. We copulate more often thereby increasing the population with more of our genetic material. It don't matter if we become casualties because our seed is already spread from countless woman lining up to root us.

I'm supporting Bones and voted for "Scooters are cool" b/c they're simply not.  They may be functional, fuel efficient, practical transportation - debatable, but not cool . . .

This is the thing.  A mod doesn't wear leathers.  He dresses quite smart (suit) but with a green army parka.  Leathers on a scooter is not cool.

I still stick by the view that they are cool.  I saw and chatted a guy and his chick in Oz (Townsville) on a lovel blue 60's Vespa.  His chick was very hot.

I'd just like to say I like bikes too, I mean how cool is the teardrop gastank Harley in Easy Rider!  But I couldn't handle a big bike (I'd drop it) so I wouldn't even consider getting one.

I wonder if people who don't dig scooters also don't dig these: http://www.aidan.co.uk/data_sheetVanFRedSamba5911.jpg.htm

These are very cool too, and believe me the chicks love 'em (my mate has a beaut...van I mean).

Question:      Which advise are you tired of hearing?

Plexiglass is for conversion cabs with holes under the overlay.
Or people who want something to clan easily and not worry about wear on their cp art.

That bump on the back of your cabinet makes it harder to build, and transport, and makes it less stable, and is far from "authentic".
What bump? Sounds lame though.

Player 3 and 4 do NOT get rotated sticks.
Unless you want to waste money on something you can't use

You will never use the 3rd and 4th joysticks (unless you have children or live in a dorm).
I would maybe add that you would use them rareley even with kids.

Why does your cabinet have to break into multiple pieces?
I couln't own one that had that, unless the line was hidden so well you can't see it.

A $50 computer kicks ass for mame, that other $600 you spent was wasted.
I think it depends what type of games you want to play. I'd say $150

Don't extend, enlarge, or otherwise try to wrangle more control panel room out of a classic cabinet. It looks terrible, every time.
I concur.

Buy a coin door for God's sake, they only cost $20.

I just re-read the plexiglass thing ad realise that I misunderstood it. I thought you were saying that you should put plexiglass over holes in the CP rather the doing a proper repair. But now I see that you meant that the only reason to have plexi on the CP is if the CP is screwed and you're too lazy to fix it. I still hate plexi on the CP, but I'm a firm believer in laziness, so I have to withdraw that vote too. Please continue as you were Paige. :)

I choose the coin door one just for the reason that if demand goes down then prices go down then I'll buy em all up then change my vote so that you will start recomending coin doors again so that the prices will go up so I can resell them all.....

then I'll make a fortune  ;D

Not so much a bump as a cosmetic 'cutout' on the lower back part of a cab.

I voted for "other" which would be something along the lines of "Hey, you can pick that machine up for $100, check your local paper."

That may apply in your area or other forum members' areas, but not in many areas, Central Maine for example, especially if you are looking for a specific title.

I actually agree with most of your sentiments up there; other than "scooters are cool", lol.

My cab has the "bump" it als breaks into pieces, hell it's tough to lug 300 pounds of MDF down to the basement! I also like scooters, Bones you better be careful or Liam Gallager of Oasis will punch ya in the face! Just kiddin but he owns a huge collection of vintage scooters, think Quadrafinia! But Bones if it makes you feel better I own a 900cc Duck Super Sport also, sold the Honda Elite on Ebay earlier this summer since the wife didn't ride it anymore. Forgot where I was going with this...........Just read your post MinWah, I also loved that Who movie!

I only voted for "You will never use the 3rd and 4th joysticks (unless you have children or live in a dorm)."

Some people really do have friends over on a regular basis.  I routinely have 4-5 guys in my game room.

The rest of it, needs to be repeated over and overand over and over, for all the new kids.

Except the scooter bit, that needs to be repeated over and over, just for laughs.  :D
